  • Where do you deliver indoor plant gifts?

    Our indoor plant gift delivery service extends to most inner and outer Melbourne and Geelong suburbs, as well as the Surf Coast. If you’re looking to send a gift in Melbourne, Geelong or the Surf Coast, check out our delivery zones and pricing information here prior to ordering. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to deliver indoor plant gifts by post Australia-wide. However, all our gifts and care packages are available for Australia-wide gift delivery.

  • How are your gifts and care packages presented?

    Our gifts are wrapped in custom dark green tissue with Hello Botanical branding (complimentary of course!). Our care packages arrive in our custom hessian basket/pot cover, which can be re-purposed later (we hate waste!) Our packaging is eco-conscious and re-usable, recyclable, in keeping with our sustainable gifting ethos. When we are delivering gifts by courier (via our same day or future date gift delivery service across Melbourne and Geelong), your gifts are then packaged in our recyclable kraft paper gift bags with Hello Botanical branding. When we’re delivering gifts and care packages Australia-wide, these are packed into our recyclable kraft paper mailing boxes with our environmentally=friendly (water-activated) Hello Botanical branded packing tape (in either pink for the girls or green for guys / gender neutral).

  • How are your indoor plant gifts presented?

    Our indoor plant gifts are beautifully presented in a custom high-quality hessian pot cover. Your indoor plant gift can remain in the hessian pot cover for 3 months or more. We love the natural look of these pot covers, which perfectly compliment the natural beauty of lush green foliage and blend seamlessly in any environment.

  • Do your indoor plant gifts come in pots?

    Our indoor plant gifts are delivered in their plastic gardener’s pot, and the hessian pot cover as this is much better for the health and longevity of your indoor plant gift. We’ve noticed that some of the newer indoor plant gift delivery companies include a pot (of the same size) or even re-pot the plant, however this jeopardises the longevity and health of the plant and is not recommended. You also require a larger pot for re-potting, not the same size as the plastic gardener’s pot. You may wish to purchase the next size up pot as an optional add-on, and we’ll send this along with re-potting instructions. However, recipients can always choose their pot at a later date. We’ll send them a little discount code should they wish to purchase via us!

  • How do you ensure your indoor plant gifts are delivered safely?

    We use the best courier services that we know of, after extensive research and experience since we launched in 2017. We exclusively use on-demand high end door-to-door courier companies for the delivery of our indoor plant gifts across Melbourne, Geelong and the Surf Coast. This is unfortunately why we cannot send our indoor plant gifts Australia-wide, boxing an indoor plant gift severely jeopardises its health.

  • Can I create a custom care package?

    At this stage, we don’t have the functionality to create your own pack online specifically. However, if you want to substitute anything with any of our care packages, please just send us an email or even write notes in the delivery instructions at checkout. We’ll follow up with you if we need clarification, but in most instances, a simple gift substitution or two is no worries at all.

  • Do you offer gift hamper delivery Australia-wide?

    Yes all of our gift hampers (which we call care packages) are available for Australia-wide gift delivery.

  • Do you offer free shipping?

    We offer free same day gift delivery across Melbourne, Geelong and the Surf Coast on orders over $199. We also offer free Australia-wide gift delivery on orders over $199.

  • Can I add a gift message?

    Yes you most certainly can provide your custom gift message, which we write onto our postcards attached to our indoor plant gifts, other gifts or care packages – on our custom high quality Hello Botanical cards. After you’ve added your items to your shopping cart, there’s a form at the cart page to collect recipient details and your message.

  • Which gifts can I deliver Australia-wide?

    All our (non-plant) gifts and care packages are available for Australia-wide gift delivery. Unfortunately, we don’t offer Australia-wide indoor plant gift delivery. We exclusively use door to door couriers for indoor plant gift delivery, hence we stick to our local area (offering same day gift delivery to Melbourne, Geelong and the Surf Coast).

  • How do I track my Melbourne gift delivery?

    Once your gift is on its way, you’ll receive an email with tracking details. For Melbourne gift deliveries, you’ll receive live tracking updates on the day (kinda like Uber for plant deliveries)!

  • How do I track my Geelong gift delivery?

    Our Geelong (and Surf Coast) gift delivery drivers don’t provide live tracking updates; however, they are amazing and so reliable and careful. If you have any queries about your Geelong gift delivery, you can simply give us a call if you have any concerns. We can then follow them up on your behalf.

  • How to I track my Australia-wide gift delivery?

    Once your gift is on its way, you’ll receive an email with tracking details. Simply follow the links in that email to track your parcel or get in touch with us if you have any concerns. 

  • What if I need my gift box delivered on a specific day?

    When choosing to send a gift to Melbourne, Geelong or the Surf Coast, you most definitely can select our “Book a Future Date” option, and you can specify the exact delivery date. We offer same day and future date deliveries Monday-Friday and on special occasions (e.g., Mothers Day, Valentines Day) in those areas. With our Australia-wide gift deliveries, we can only guarantee that delivery will be made within 5 business days of dispatch, and they are dispatched same day.

  • I have issues with my order/my order hasn’t arrived when scheduled. What do I do?

    First of all, take a look at your shipping confirmation email from us. You can find the tracking details there and even live track your parcel delivery for Melbourne gift deliveries. For Geelong gift deliveries, you are best to call us to follow up on your behalf. For Australia-wide deliveries, tracking will be via the confirmation email from us. But please call or email us anytime if you have any concerns.

  • Do you deliver to PO boxes?

    Unfortunately, our gift delivery service cannot deliver to PO boxes. We can only deliver to physical street addresses – either residential, commercial or other.

  • Do you deliver to apartments?

    With our indoor plant gift delivery service across Melbourne, Geelong and the Surf Coast, delivery to apartments can be a little tricky. We can’t take indoor plant gifts to the post office so we exclusively use an ‘Authority to Leave’ service, meaning we leave the plant/gifts by the front door or in another safe place (e.g, with reception) if we can’t hand deliver to the gift recipient. If there’s access to the actual apartment to leave by the front door then no worries! If there’s a reception/concierge, even better! Failing that, you may like to provide the gate access code in the delivery instructions on the cart page prior to checkout, and we can pass this onto the driver. Alternatively, get in touch with us if you’d like us to communicate with the gift recipient on your behalf to make sure they’ll be home to receive the gift (don’t worry, we’ll keep the surprise) or to arrange an after-hours delivery on occasion.  

  • What happens if the gift recipient isn’t home?

    We always provide our gift delivery drivers authority to leave the gift in a safe place if no-one is home (e.g., by the front door).

  • Can I request a delivery time?

    Given we’re a same day gift delivery service, all our deliveries are made from 1pm (after our 12:30pm same day deadline). Most Melbourne, Geelong and Surf Coast gift deliveries are made between 1 and 5pm. We always deliver to schools before 3:30. Please get in touch if you have any concerns regarding the delivery time.

  • Is there an option for pick up instead of delivery?

    Melbourne friends, we got you! We now offer click and collect from our Williamstown warehouse. Simply place your order online and select ‘Collect’ in the shipping/billing details section. We offer same day collection on orders placed by 12:30pm, Mon-Fri. Pick-up is available between 10am and 1pm on business days. Please email us to arrange a specific time if this doesn’t work.

  • What happens if my gift needs to be redelivered?

    On the very odd occasion, your gift is returned to us. If there’s an error in the delivery address or if there is no access to the recipient’s building and we can’t reach them to arrange delivery, there is likely a re-delivery fee which we’ll need to pass onto you. More info here. However, this is very unlikely. We avoid this at all costs by providing the driver with both the customer and recipient’s mobile number, as well as ours, to troubleshoot and ensure successful gift delivery.

  • Do you offer corporate gift delivery?

    Hello Botanical offers a unique sustainable and personalised corporate gift delivery service showcasing locally designed and produced goodies. With so many people working from home, many companies are sending welcome hampers to new staff or gifts and hampers for other celebrations and occasions. We can create custom hampers or you may wish to choose from our range of curated care packages.
     
    For Melbourne and Geelong corporate clients (and gift recipients) we specialise in indoor plant gifts for the home and office. Your clients and/or staff will love these forever gifts that grow, clean indoor air and brighten any office or home for years to come. For clients across Australia, we can customise any of our gift care packages or design gift hampers to suit your needs and budget.

  • How do I best care for my indoor plant gift?

    All our indoor plant gifts are easy care. They simply require bright indireict light and a little water, often, to thrive. Whilst in the hessian, water your plant a tiny bit every few days and the water won’t then drain out the bottom of the pot cover. If your plant requires a good soak (e.g., drooping foliage, hardened soil), remove the pot from the hessian, and soak the pot in the sink. You only need enough water to ensure the holes of the plastic pot are covered. Leave for a few hours or even overnight. This allows the soil to be soaked from the bottom and beautifully softens the soil and replenishes thirsty plants.
     
    Before placing your indoor plant back in the pot cover, allow excess water to drain (even gift the pot a squeeze over the sink). If the hessian does get wet, remove your plant and place the pot cover upside down to dry before popping it back on (to avoid water stains).
    Re-pot your plant within a few months (or longer if you wish!)
     
    When re-potting our small plants (120-130mm), you need a 170mm diameter pot.
    When re-potting our large plants (170-200mm), you need a 200-250mm diameter pot.
    We sell both these sizes our you can pick-up at your local nursery.
     
    Signs that your plant is ready to repot ...
    - Plant is getting a bit top-heavy (e.g. falling over easily)
    - Soil seems to dry out more between watering
    - Plant growth seems to have slowed
    - Roots growing through bottom of gardener’s pot
     
    How to repot?
    - Remove your plant from the hessian pot cover and give it a good soak in the sink a couple of days before
    - Get some good quality potting mix (we recommend and sell Houseplant Hoarders soil mix)
    - Turn plant sideways, hold gently by stems, and tap the bottom of the current container until the plant loosens and slides out easily
    - Loosen the roots with your hands
    - Remove about 1/3 of the old soil
    - Pour a fresh layer of soil into new pot and set plant on top, in centre
    - Add potting mix around the plant until it seems firm/secure and is standing straight
    - Even out soil around the top (smooth it down, press with fingers) and leave 1-2 cm from the top
    - If using a selfwatering pot, place water in the tray
