- CARE GUIDE
-
All of our indoor plants are thoughtfully selected for their easy-to-care-for nature.
You’ll find specific care instructions below, but don’t worry - whether you’re treating yourself or sending a gift, we’ll include simple care instructions with your order to help your plant thrive.
CARE LEVEL
Moderate – loves a little consistency and extra humidity but rewards you with striking striped foliage and gentle movement.LIGHT
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade or scorch its soft, patterned leaves. Will tolerate lower light but may grow more slowly.WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top few centimetres are dry. Sensitive to chemicals – use filtered or rainwater if possible.HUMIDITY
Loves high humidity. Mist regularly or place near a humidifier or in a humid spot like a bathroom. Dry air can lead to crispy edges.FEEDING
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser. Pause feeding during cooler months.LEAF CARE
Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep them looking their best. Trim any brown edges with clean scissors.PET FRIENDLY?
Yes! Calathea Freddie is non-toxic and safe for pets and little ones.EXTRA TIPS
Leaves curling or edges browning? Check your water quality and humidity levels | Naturally moves with the light – don’t be alarmed if it changes position during the day | Rotate occasionally for even growth. - WHEN AND HOW TO RE-POT
- Your Hello Botanical plant gift can happily remain in the plastic gardener’s pot and our hessian pot cover for 3-6 months or more. Indoor plants do best if they are left in the plastic gardener's pot for at least a few months. When it is time to re-pot, it's best to re-pot up (into a slightly larger pot) to promote continued growth. You may like to add-on a Mr Kitly selfwatering pot to your plant gift (size 170mm for our small plants, size 250mm for our large plants). We provide individualised advice on how and when to re-pot, per plant, per recipient. We include an information leaflet with your gift, and are available by email or DM anytime for further advice.
- IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFO
- The plant gift delivery fee ranges between $15 and $40. For indoor plant deliveries, we exclusively use premium door to door courier services and only deliver locally (Melbourne and Geelong), to ensure their healthy and fast arrival.
