- CARE GUIDE
-
All of our indoor plants are thoughtfully selected for their easy-to-care-for nature.
You’ll find specific care instructions below, but don’t worry - whether you’re treating yourself or sending a gift, we’ll include simple care instructions with your order to help your plant thrive.
CARE LEVEL
Moderate – a little diva-ish about humidity and consistency, but totally manageable once you know its preferences.LIGHT
Loves bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can fade or burn the colourful foliage, while low light can dull its striking pink and green tones. Filtered light is ideal.WATER
Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, but never soggy. Water when the top inch feels dry. Use room-temperature, filtered, or distilled water if possible – this plant is sensitive to minerals and fluoride.HUMIDITY
High humidity is a must. Aim for 60% or more if you can. Grouping plants, using a pebble tray, or keeping it near a humidifier helps prevent crispy leaf edges.FEEDING
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength. Hold off in autumn and winter when growth slows.LEAF CARE
Gently wipe the leaves to reveal their colour and help them breathe. Remove damaged or crispy edges with clean scissors, trimming along the natural leaf shape.PET FRIENDLY?
Yes! Stromanthes are non-toxic to pets and humans, making them a safe choice for curious households.EXTRA TIPS
Prefers slightly warm, stable temps – avoid cold drafts | Rotate regularly for even growth | Browning edges often mean low humidity or tap-water sensitivity | Its leaves fold up at night – totally normal and part of its
charm! - WHEN AND HOW TO RE-POT
- Your Hello Botanical plant gift can happily remain in the plastic gardener’s pot and our hessian pot cover for 2-3 months or more. Indoor plants do best if they are left in the plastic gardener's pot for at least a few months. When it is time to re-pot, it's best to re-pot up (into a slightly larger pot) to promote continued growth. You may like to add-on a Mr Kitly selfwatering pot to your plant gift (size 170mm for our small plants, size 250mm for our large plants). We provide individualised advice on how and when to re-pot, per plant, per recipient. We include an information leaflet with your gift, and are available by email or DM anytime for further advice.
- IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFO
- The plant gift delivery fee ranges between $15 and $40. For indoor plant deliveries, we exclusively use premium door to door courier services and only deliver locally (Melbourne and Geelong), to ensure their healthy and fast arrival.
